Ashkenazy Acquisition Corporation - Rivercenter Mall Redevelopment / San Antonio, TX

Ashkenazy Acquisition Corporation - Rivercenter Mall Redevelopment / San Antonio, TX

Originally built in 1988, The Rivercenter Mall of San Antonio has been a tourist destination for almost twenty years. Through Ashkenazy Acquisition Corporation, SA Partnership was asked to revitalize the building bringing back vitality and attractiveness to its branch on the San Antonio Riverwalk. The large project has been developed in three phases, the first being the update of the mall entrances and the river front façade. Because of its location the design needed to be sensitive to the historic preservation of the river and its surroundings. The use of local materials and the addition of multiple terraces helped in approving the Phase I design with San Antonio’s Historic and Design Review Commission along with the integration of several five star restaurants such as: Capital Grill, Oceanaire, and Cantina Laredo. Phase II of the project will bring the Joske’s building back to its original form by uncovering the windows and ornate brick front, while the last phase will be to create a luxury hotel to replace one of the parking garages and expanding another parking structure. Once completed, these three phases will help in creating a better atmosphere for pedestrian traffic and tourism along one of the city’s most attractive destinations.

Featured in the national trade publication, Vidoeography, SA Partnership developed a 60’s retro design to remodel the interiors of the Inferno Suite. The original edit suite was completely demolished to the original structure in order to maximize the space and opportunity for the new design. Known as the “Austin Powers Room,” the Inferno Suite features include suspended ceiling mirrors and panels, metal finishes, and curvilinear treatments to create a unique enclosure for Match Frame’s clients and editors.

SA Partnership remodeled Match Frame’s existing Edit Suite II to accommodate Match Frame’s new video editing technology. Featured in the national trade publication, Videography, the Edit Suite II (fire room) integrates the design stations so that the space promotes interaction between editors and clients. The fire room has all the “post-modern” conveniences including stadium seating, a massage chair, and a 250-gallon saltwater aquarium. The final design offers acoustical treatments and visual access from all points of the suite.

Weston Centre / San Antonio, TX

Weston Centre / San Antonio, TX

SA Partnership has a continuous design relationship with the Weston Centre.  To date, the Fountain Plaza, first floor conference room and management offices and the 8th floor multi-tenant elevator lobby, corridors and toilet room renovations have been complete.

The Fountain Plaza is a bi-level, eco-friendly deck nestled around existing cypress trees which overlooks the Weston Centre water fountain steps and the San Antonio River.  Cafe seating offers tranquil break and lunch time get-away and romantic cocktail areas for future restaurant growth to the sound of the water falling.

The Conference Room and Management Offices were created out of an existing tenant space.  They are now open to the main lobby corridor.  They feature end-cut mesquite wood floors and colorful art of the historical buildings, streets and the River of yester year around the Weston Centre. The conference room displays the Weston name cut into the stone wall, gas privacy glass, an end-cut mesquite and pecan conference room table and audio-video-IT capabilities to meet all conferencing needs.

The 8th multi-tenant floor was the first renovation of several future multi-tenant renovations and is designed with an emphasis on the great State of Texas.  The elevator lobby features cut stone walls, rough hewn beams and end-cut mesquite wood floors.  The corridors display Texas history artifacts and art.  The toilet rooms were transformed with deep, ruddy red wall covering, travertine floors, walls and counter tops and mahogany wood toilet partitions.
